And you are Bahsix now

Many probably call me elle-in, actually 99.99% of you probably do. That 0.01% are the ones whom I told them how to pronounce my name. My name, is Ee-lin, which definetely shocked Basix. But, do you know why? Well, my 5th grade teacher rambled why, but ofc I didn't listen. So I did some research.
Elin is pronounced "ee-lin" because it is a Scandinavian and Welsh name, which is a version of the Greek name Helen or Helene, meaning "bright" or "shining". This pronunciation is common in countries like Sweden, Norway, and Iceland, and the spelling reflects the sound in these languages. While the "ee-lin" pronunciation is widespread in its countries of origin, the name is also sometimes pronounced "Ellen" in English-speaking contexts, particularly in the United States, as it can be seen as a variation of Ellen.
In addition, I can remember something about what my 5th grade teachers said. Just like Edie, Elin is a vowel followed by a SINGULAR consonant, not 2. That is also why Edie is not pronounced "Ed-die".
Next time you think of me...
Think Ee-lin!
