why are there so many of these RPs nowadays

You feel dazed after finding yourself in the castle of Valindrialysara, with one memory, you were instructed to find the 3 Sorcerer’s Weapons by the first Warden, Lord Throsbring himself. As you look beyond the castle, you see shops, people, houses, and other buildings all around the castle. You know in your mind that you must gear up.
Meanwhile…
500 miles away, in some distant ruins, Drakonith, the dark sorcerer who corrupted the mind of the Warden whose name was Xerathian, walks over buildings, talking with his minions.
Drakonith: ”Where are the weapons?”
Minion 1: “We don’t know, sir. However, the scouts report rumors of a weapon discovery in the Castle.”
Drakonith: “Prepare my steed, minion. We must ride to the battle.”
Minion 2: “Yes sir. Colonel.”
Minion 3: “On my way, sir.”
The RP has BEGUN!
