Back in the Middle Ages, there used to be a Kingdom in southern Morocco called Sus.

Also spelled Sous or Souss.

Nobody trusted them, though. They were Sus.

TIL - Way back in 50 AD (during the same time period that Emperor Claudius ruled in Rome) the small Kingdom of Shanyue in what is now southern China was ruled by King Pawn.

Seriously. King Pawn.

I haven't been able to find out whether the country was ever directly ruled by Queen Pawn.
