Nah, he's old. It doesn't take conviction to have disdain for the historically disenfranchised when you're old, they're doing it out of habit.
I don't have disdain, I just think that people shouldn't be given special recognition when it's not deserved.
That's as obtuse as asking why should someone be proud of their sexuality.
I would never ask someone why they are proud of their sexuality. It is what it is...
No it is what I want it to be. It's a spectrum remember. Coming out as a rice cake took so much bravery. How much you'll never know

Happy Pride everyone! ![]()
From Uganda's outrageous anti-gay laws and the terrible anti-lgbtq+ legislation swarming through many US states, to the casual homophobia on this forum, I think it clear why Pride still exists.

Pink is a great colour to think about for Pride.
Pink was the colour of young boys in the Victorain era, masculinity in the 1920s, but femininity from the 40s onwards. This shows how malleable cultural gender markers are.
Pink was the colour of the triangle used to indicate gays by Nazi Germany in the 30s and 40s, and which was used from the 1970s onwards by lgbtq+ groups to symbolise Pride.
