Sun shining on me at the beach . I've been observing my mind a little more and I would like to share here what I've seen .
tomtrytostay
How does the absence of free will , that experience is the observer and the observed in the present moment continually and awareness is the universe experiencing itself fit together ?

That is the nature of reality .

What is love ?
Love is an energy .
tomtrytostay
What is the nature of this energy ?
Love is life
tomtrytostay
Do I know what I am ?
I know what I am , I am life and life is love .
tomtrytostay
I don't understand .
Free will does not exist therefore there is no self but life is an energy and when this energy flows through my internal organs I experience love .

Hmm.
ANOK1

what is love , thats the toughest question ive ever seen in forum

im gonna come at it from this angle altough it may not be right

Love is a mammalian evolutionary instinct ( see i excluded piscine reptilian and avian there so prob wrong lol)

mammals have the longest nurture of their offspring in humans this tends to be 16- 20 yrs from birth of child

love ensures that the infant gets the aid of its parent freely so the infant can develop to its potential and ensure continuation of that species

i think its hormonal  and serves a necessary purpose in buildin the bonds of the mating mammals and the future care of the result of that

I am gravity. I look into myself and see gravity. We are all gravity. What is gravity? Gravity is an energy. It is the universe expressing itself. Do I know what I am? I am the universe.

Estren

I jump but falls down. I have no free will.

@anok..love in the respect that its of advantage to perpetuate the species, i understand. But what about selfless love that has no advantage to the one who loves..dogs illustrate this by leaving perfectly nice homes to return to an owner, or people who give their lives for a stranger..whats that about?

ANOK1

good question mate , ok lets try to answer , im betting i get it wrong lol

selfless love , is it tho , we all get a warm feeling when we do summat nice for another could it be subconciously we are wanting to return to the warmth we felt in our parents love

this is such a tough subject tho and i certainly aint got the answer as can be seen by my reply

fathamster

Theres a loyalty involved..how do loyalty and love fit together? Except in the case of the stranger. Your answer is as good as any.

Estren I enjoyed that pardody. The funny thing is it sounded sort of believable .

It's an interesting idea that just because I experience something it doesn't mean I am that thing .

The think is though guys I experience love without an object for that love existing .

When my mind quietens I experience love . What's that all about ?

I guess that if it's true that love is generally for a purpose , the experience of love , then so love can be experienced for no reason .

My own experience of love , outside of experience it as what I am, is that it's a reaction to beauty.

I don't mean beauty as in physical appearance but beauty as in the beauty of who a person is .

An example . An elderly lady spilled loose change today, my wife helped her pick the change up .

I saw that my wife's behaviour was beautiful and I loved her for it .

And that's the sort of person she is you know ? I'll always love her whether she leaves me or not.

Guys can you love someone without seeing beauty in them as a person ?

As for love and loyalty . Interesting .

The first thing that comes to mind is that love is a response . It's a response to being aware of beauty .

If you know that beauty exists within another then you want them .

You want to be around them. So though you may see it as loyalty the reality is you want to be around them for you . You need that beauty .

I suppose though if you've been loved you'll want to reward the person that has been so beautiful to you .
tomtrytostay
But you know doesn't a dog love just about everyone ? Certainly a puppy . It's nothing to do with how they have been treated . They just love everyone .

I'm a bit like that I think . To be honest I think pretty much everyone is . Whatever people say , very very few people would intentionally hurt anyone and the absolute majority feel profound regret when they do hurt someone .
ANOK1

can i love without seeing the beauty inside the object of my love , yes but thats mainly down to conditioning i think ,

the stronger love is more like how you saw in your wifes behaviour beauty as this is what appeals to you and not what we are told to love

society  via media tells us how to love ,but love isnt always flowers on feb 14th its much more than that

i love abstract things too like ideas , and what are they but expressed results of neurons interacting , even though they can be hard to grasp and have no mass they are the substance on which i build my moral code

so when im moving my lovers hair from her face as she regurgitates in the toilet due to morning sickness  i find in even that repulsive mental image the strong bonds that keep us together

Is it easier to care about a stranger than someone you don't like?
