It would help the conversation if you tell us exactly what you think its value is. Otherwise, people may be scared away because they do not want to say the wrong answer and be accused of not appreciating chess.

I think chess is very appropriate for any age level, or race. But I've met people who have experienced the wonders of chess but still don't appreciate its value. Why do you think that is.
