We need a new pinned thread

In recent times, people complain more and more about apparent spam threads and person above you, and how these contribute to a deterioration in thread quality. I’ve personally never been annoyed by person above you threads, they haven’t done anything bad, but I can confirm that all of us at least want a little confirmation we are required in this community. People now leave because of this, although I am sure these are just excuses for other issues in life or whatever. I don’t really care, but it’s sad to see people leave, for whatever reason they have

I don’t believe that this is the problem, but I do know that we constantly have new members who see people get 1000 of comments with these non spam threads, and then using them, turning our opinion on this. I believe therefore we need a better pinned thread, or something entirely new.

Now I’m planning to create an otf history thread whenever I have time, and I believe along side this, we need the otf community to create a set of rules voted on together. We must create a place where people can discuss, where it isn’t filled with similar threads like the ‘rate you threads’ and everything. I don’t say arguments and beef shouldn’t be here, I personally enjoy looking back on this, to see the flavour of otf, but personally I will never participate in arguments. I am always peaceful, and until the moment I need to argue, it isn’t too serious.

Anyway, the point is that the 17 year old pinned thread isn’t up to the current standards of this otf. I’m not saying that we need to remove all of the current rules, I think that every thing you can get muted for is fair, but I think we need new members to understand what we are about.

Some people make essays for spam. Balviboy makes essays for the good of the community.

I would just be careful not to get muted. I feel like it’s better to have that pinned than nothing at all.
