No one uses cyclist as an insult.

Yet, pedestrian is insulting.

The word cyclist is associated with negative aspects of human characters, and therefore is functional as a valid insult. Pedestrian is seen as more of a compliment if you haven't noticed.

Lacking inspiration or excitement is a compliment?

The part of speech is an adjective. Pedestrians are not necessarily pedestrian.

JackRoach

Pedestrians aren't pedestrian.

Obviously, they aren't. They're apedestrian.

asdfghkl123456798

so

apedestrian= act of being a pedestrian

what does pedestrian mean?

Bid

Cyclists aren't cyclists, they are Carlists

JackRoach

This is according to Merriam-Webster. Of course, they wrote pedestrian instead of apedestrian, but with the recent changes, I understand it may be outdated and need some time to fully accept all my changes with the pedestrian/cyclist revolution.

The modern meaning has changed and is no longer accurate.

Only philosophers can change words, not dictionary people.

Who do these people think they are? They must be mistaken.

I'm afraid philosophers don't change words. The general public does, for they are the one who uses the language and test its words in casual conversation and formal documentation
