It was, but after that your feet calloused more than usual and you were fine. 

Last year we finally got the real sand, and we had to spread it along the entire beach by hand, but it was worth it.

At last , the gravel was no more

Well, it's still there, it's just buried, so we have to make sure no one digs holes.

 I would fire a guy or a guy’ette for revealing the gravel again. 

It's more the campers we had to worry about digging holes, not the staff.
