My parents claim they had to sprint across battlefields, landmines everywhere, extensive bombing campaigns from above, tanks encroaching in, men charging at them with their rifles loaded and bayonets equipped. They'd be lucky to arrive at school without a gaping wound.
So in other words that had to haul it out of bed super early and get on a bus without stepping in the mud
