Just thinking out loud here but if anyone wanted to prove the world was flat couldn't they just go to the edges of the world with a camera crew and say "Here it is. See, I told u so. Now all u doubters look so stupid." Wouldn't that have been done countless times?

The people who go looking for the edge of the world end up going over the edge and falling off, never to be heard from again. That's why nobody knows about "THE EDGE"...
I never thought there were really people that believed the world was flat and that it was a joke. At least not in a civilized part of the world. But 6 years ago there was a project manager for a high end construction company that believed it was flat and tried to get me to believe it too. He was NOT joking, he gave me links to videos supposedly proving it was flat. John was a reasonably smart guy too, he just had all these crazy conspiracy theories wasting space in his head like the fumes coming out of jet engines weren't what we've been led to believe. Â
