Why do english was chosen as the international language?

I guess english is easier to learn then other languages, and that is why
You'd guess wrong. Spanish is very easy, but also somewhat redundant.

I think it has to do with the history of the Catholic Church. When missionaries went out to other parts of the world, they brought English with them. That, plus England had the biggest Navy for the longest time.

If french was the international language, then the teachers will taught french in the school and everyone would say french is easy ( As they were studying it from kindergarten) and this thought it's diverting me to a new parallel universe where french is the international language, when we think and think and think :shock

If the international language was my language i would be very proud 😊 and everyone will speak in our language when they go outside of their country of something and 70% of the world knows our language fluently 😮 which is unbelievable

I think because Great Britain had lots of power and their language was well....English so that spread and now English is somewhat an international language

Some people say that English is the international language because of the UK, which is partially true due to their large colonial empire at one time, but I think that USA had a bigger influence to spread the popularity of English (especially after WW2 years when internet, mass media, and consumer culture spread rapidly through the world).
have you wondered why you celebrate your independence day? start there.
