Or macadamias. Btw, have I mentioned how I hate the DH, and how I don't consider it "real" baseball?

Just looked through this thread. Cabby, why so many deleted posts? Also, I think you'd be interested in this one: http://www.chess.com/forum/view/off-topic/baseball-reminisces

Thanks for the post AlCzervik. On the DH the fact is that some fans like having more offence and some don't. The deleted post were rants about Bud Selig, I do NOT like having a used car salesman as the top man in Baseball.

Bashing Bud, eh? Shoulda left the comments.

--- Another thing I hate about Selig is that he is a owner ( never mind that BS about his daughter owning the Brewers ). The main feature of his tenure so far ? Well how about the way that he blew up the 1994 World Series, sure put the Expos on the skids that year.

He's had a few bad moves, and, turned a blind eye to PED's back then, too.

--- I think that all of his moves were bad, for example changing around the divisions. No matter how many times I do the math if there are 30 teams and 6 divisions we should have 5 teams in each division ( NOT 4 teams, NOR 6 teams ). Not in Bud's world tho, I still can't believe he screwed that up.

You know it's bad when we're ranking failings. For me, ignoring ped's and making the winner of the All Star game the home team in the WS are the two biggest.

Well I'm with you on the drugs because Hank Aaron should stay as the official king of the home runs. That steroid-monster Bonds should have been run out of Baseball years before he got anywhere near Hank's record.

Having complained about old Bud Selig I must admit that his most recent realignment was a bit better however it is still hard to get used to having the Brewers in the National League.

There is good news and good news ( & no bad news ). The Sochi Olympics have been a great success and went off without any major problems. Canada has won several medals including Women's and Men's Hockey, not bad !

I gather that the Blue Jays play their first spring-training game tomorrow ( Baseball is back ). Let me just add: GO JAYS GO !!! ( lol ).

cabadenwurt

There is good news and also bad news. " Lindy's Sports Baseball 2014 Preview " says that Bud Selig will retire in 2015 ( it's about time !!! ). Btw Cal Ripkin Jr should get the job next, we need a baseball man as commissioner. The bad news is that this magazine is calling for the Blue Jaye to finish last in the AL East ( Noooooooo ).

cabadenwurt

The season is underway ! Batter up and Play Ball !

And: GO JAYS GO !!!

Good News & Bad News:

The Toronto Blue Jays are doing quite well ( so far ). GO JAYS GO !!!

Bad news in the NHL, Montreal has lost to the New York Rangers.

cabadenwurt

GO KINGS GO !!!

Yes the LA Kings will be playing against the NY Rangers in the NHL finals.

cabadenwurt

Yes the LA Kings took the Stanley Cup in 5 games, very nice.

A few days ago I bought a local paper and saw the bad news: Baltimore at 46 & 39 with the Blue Jays at 47 & 40 ( not good ). Besides the AL East standings it was Detroit at 48 & 34 leading the AL Central and Oakland leading the AL West at 52 & 33. The NL has Atlanta, Milwaukee and LA Dodgers leading in their divisions, effective July 3rd.

Great News ! That awful fellow Bud Selig is gone from Baseball at last ( anyone remember the disaster of 1994 ? ). Good Bye Bud and don't rush back !

I just hope his successor knows something about baseball. He's a lawyer, by trade.

Thanks for the update AlCzervik. It would be hard for anyone to be worse than old Bud.

Meanwhile my Toronto Blue Jays are having problems. Yesterday's paper lists them at 69 - 67, however Baltimore leads the AL East at 79 - 56. Well I guess that there is next year to look forward to.
