Why the hell does a chess website have political policies?

I mean, I fully accept chess.com are real authorities on chess. Absolutely.

Politics? I doubt it.

An online gaming platform is not a place for political posturing IMO, considering:

1. People come here for chess, they go other places for political opinion.

2. You might very well get it wrong. You are chess experts, welcome to your personal political opinions, but you can also get it way wrong. I think you did over the BLM disgrace. And, I'm sorry to say, you seem to be falling for a one-sided western narrative in a story that has two sides.

3. It's really just bare-faced virtue-signalling. Oh, I'm sure y'all get a rush of moral superiority by waving a Ukraine flag around and telling everyone how much you care, and banning the flag of Anatoly Karpov but what's it really doing?

And hey, you don't like me pointing this out do you? This is not a place for challenging political dogma is it? No, it certainly isn't and that's exactly my point.
