That's a big question, Chirpbird.

We often forget that we have a need for answers about what happens when we die and if we don't have that answer then we are fearful.

There was a man who loved Jesus very much. His name was Billy Graham. He preached all around the world for like, I don't know, maybe 50 or 60 years? Anyway, he knew what would happen to him once he died because of the promises Jesus gave him. He said that though he wasn't sure how he was going to die and that part he wasn't excited about, he still looked forward to death and to being in Heaven because he knew what awaited him there! There is no better place to be or to compare!

That is the best way to deal with the fear of death:

1. Acknowledging that it's going to happen and being prepared for it before it happens. Many try to pretend it's not going to happen and then when they're unable to push a thought away about death, pure fear rushes to their brain.

2. Asking yourself "What happens when I die?" seems very frightening, but it's a question we must face in order to find the answer that's a comfort.

3. Finding out thru looking at the promises that have been kept in Gods word because if God has kept His promises to man for all of these years either in the Bible or thru many peoples testimonies, that means His promise of salvation thru the death and resurrection of His son, Jesus Christ, is also trustworthy.

4. Accepting the promise of eternal salvation for yourself by asking Jesus to be your Savior, asking for forgiveness of your sins, then growing in your relationship with the Lord and your fears about death will literally be replaced with hope! There was a man who killed Christians with zeal until something happened to him and he gave himself to Christ and realized he had looked at death from a very wrong angle of thinking it was something to fear. His name was Paul.

1 Corinthians 15:55-57

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul is saying death has no power over Gods son or daughter!!! I found this explanation of this verse on Christian Library website and I thought it was a great explanation for you-

"Death's horrific sting is a result of sin. Death only loses its sting when death is no longer a punishment, but rather a transition. Believers no longer need to feel the sting of death, since Jesus has achieved everlasting life for believers. "

Our lives here on earth and for all eternity is a victory, not the grave victorious over us!

Makes you wonder what kind of friends and family he has that they are fine with putting him thru that stress.

My dad has altered mental capabilities and I can't even begin to imagine putting him into stressful situations because they make everything worse for them! They should be ashamed of themselves!
