No. We domesticated wolves then crossbred them to suit our needs and later preferences.Practically every breed of dog has wolf ancestors.

Any canine can reproduce with another canine.... I don't know if canines can reproduce with vulpines (foxes)...
Canine mating examples:
A dingo can mate with a timber wolf; a coyote can mate with a dingo....and a dog can mate with a dingo and so on and so on....
The dog family has great versatility....
