Of course each perspective is different. Hopefully a rational one. An irrational one is destructive to one's own being.
Sorry to hear you have not found any truth in this world.

Just because we all have differing perspectives does not mean there is no truth to be found. I'm not saying that the same truth exists for me as you, but truths exists. The logic that because we observe our world differently suggests there exists no truth is faulty reasoning IMO.
Why bother to search for truth, when it is so easy to say none exists?
Hehe I have found a lot of truths in this world dont worry . But I dont think there is a truth regarding the question of the topic. Its all speculations. And sure you can search for a truth even in this case, maybe some day we will know the answer but at the moment you cant prove for example if there is a being or a soul or god or whatever. I personally believe in the being and in living in the present moment but thats just my opinion about this. Hope you get my point
.
The enjoying life is a good thing Thom. Searching for truth does not mean changing it, as you say it can't be changed anyway. That's the key. Finding your own truth, but not trying to change other people's perspective.
Tom is obsessed with changing our perspective to his, will get some sort to validation for his beliefs if he can get a single person to agree with his views. Nobody has come forward yet. So we get this fixation with Einstein and and Hawking where he claims they agree with him.
I get where you're coming from Thom. It's a very healthy attitude towards life imo. Enjoy life, live in the present, don't get upset with all the bs surrounding us. Good luck to you.
Well you do exist Tom, we all do otherwise we wouldn't be concious of this forum, much less commenting and reading here. If you need to feel small start counting the stars, but we all exist in this reality.

Tom, you've left 3 times already. I think a name change is in order to tomtrytoleave !
Lol
Buddhism speaks of the "non-self" There are varying teachings, some saying an understanding of the self can lead to enlightenment. At the same time too much contemplation incorrectly directed can be harmful. Best not to even contemplate the self is taught by some schools.
"non-self" and "no-self" are quite different.
Yes I agree very much with your first part. From what I have read of Tom, I dont know him at all, he seems to have a massive ego because he spent so much time trying to figure out the answers to those questions that he probably feels entitled like he has the correct answer. And I can kind of understand him, when you are very certain you got something right its natural to share it with others and try to convince them too.
Thank you very much, I wish you the same. Viel Glück as we say in German
The beauty of toms logic is in the contradictions. The latest and possibly the best is "truth is an illusion, it doesn't exist" followed by "you can't handle the truth!" Simply beautiful if there exists any such thing as beauty !
Uh oh... tom has posted in his threads he's leaving, apologizes for upsetting anyone. Tom ! Don't go ! Nobody's upset, just friendly jabbing at the nonsense you so eloquently bring to the forums. We're chess players! Who takes what we say seriously? If you did, unfortunately you're slightly confused.
There is no truth my friend. Each perspective is different. What I try is to not think about this stuff as I cant change it anyway and just enjoy life. Take care
