One game that I hated was E.T. by Atari. I liked Combat though.
Wasn't E.T. rated as one of the all-time worst? (Most of the copies sent to a landfill.)
Yes! It was featured in a documentary a while back. The poor guy that made it was rushed into doing it and he caught all kinds of flack for it. It was a very frustrating game. There were parts that were nearly impossible to get through.
After watching the documentary (Atari: Game Over), I think I might be starting to go down another rabbit hole. Apparently, someone patched the original E.T. ROM and fixed it up to a large degree, *and* the download is available.
Here's the Wikipedia page for the video game: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E.T._the_Extra-Terrestrial_(video_game)
Here's Reference #83 from the Wikipedia page: https://web.archive.org/web/20190508201629/https://www.pcworld.com/article/2032869/how-hacking-fixed-the-worst-video-game-of-all-time.html
Finally, here's the web page containing the download link for the hacked ROM: https://web.archive.org/web/20190512105620/http://www.neocomputer.org/projects/et/
I'll have to install an Atari 2600 emulator, but I think Stella is the emulator most recommended. It's available in my Linux repository. :-)

I just finished watching the documentary. Very entertaining! (The Internet Archive is a wonderful resource at times. ;-))
