It’s chess for children
Chess at school.
Chess played typically between educational institutions, generally school chess clubs, but doesn't have to necessarily have to be associated with a school. Could be a youth organization.
Some schools include chess as part of their curriculum to improve problem solving and logic skills. At our school if you competed in a tournament you would earn your numerals if you contributed to a team win at a tournament you could earn a school letter just like the jocks on the football team...lol
