I don't know what CC are doing to fix this issue (if anything) but they really need to pull their finger out and bloody do something soon. I haven't been able to make a single move in my games today.

Fix your server issues, Chess.com!

It seems to have improved in the last several hours.  I was able to play a game successfully.  I have made a number of forum posts.

I'm in the Northeast U.S. and everything seemed fine all morning. I was planning on trying an unrated game, but not now. We are back to getting constant 502 errors and I'm not sure if this post will even make it.

I really hope Chesscom gives us a status update later in the week.

Do we get any compensation for this? I am paying for a site which is consistently down.

So what's the first thing I see at 5:00 a.m. U.S. eastern time, a 502 Server Error page.

The good news is it looks like the tsunami wave of new users joining the site has crested and  has even started to crash. Only 124,00 joined the site in the past 24 hours. That's down from +300,000 members joining a day.

I imagine most of the new users will be gone in 2-3 weeks. That's right around the same time   Chesscom plans to have in place some major changes to handle the next wave of new users, if they ever return.

Strange about the silence on this topic.

If there has been a massive influx of paying customers, then, it follows, there has been a huge increase in profits.  With a commensurate reduction in services provided.  I suppose one could look upon this phenomenon as a great business model.

May I suggest that all of us that are using the APIs, hold off for a while to eliminate any chance we may be impacting the server load. We would at least be eliminating a variable. I have shut down my competition until the 502 issue is resolved.

I hope another company can create a better, more reliable online chess site, because this one has become unusable.  It crashes more games than I complete.

You have been using the site since 2012. You have played 2500 games in that time.

It looks like you were able to play 36 games in the last week and that your rating has risen by points.

How about having a little patience?

A better, more reliable online chess site already exists: lichess.

A little? Is it a joke?

It's been going on for weeks now.

Wouldn't it be refreshing if for once, just for once, chess.com would not look for excuses everywhere and admitted that they have screwed up, that it is their fault that they haven't been prepared for this?

why the rant? They already admitted server issues due to unexpected member growth lol : P   I guess that thought just had to leave your brain so hard you saw no other way than to post this

One good thing is that we're still getting the keto gummy threads...
