in complete agreement
Can you please keep old messages of muted accounts intact?

This is about persons who are contributing in a reasonable way for a long time, and then suddenly become muted and nobody knows why. So they may have done something that is against some policy of chess.com, but that does not make all their previous messages harmful.

Sure, I agree.
But also there needs to be an option to remove all of someone's activity (blogs, comments in puzzles, forums, etc).
Unfortunately I don't think they'll give that task to their programmers because that change wouldn't make the company any money. They'd rather have them make things like the new bots and more functions for saving and analyzing games.
But like I said, I agree with you that when a long time member is banned or muted it's unfortunate that all their content disappears.
What should be done is mute the posts that came from the moment a complaint was filed and keep previous posts.
i take my example. A certain Ed Trice attacked me and we already previously got some issues together. He is a scammer and a Liar and he is the guy who was behind Gothic Chess. When he started to attack me i threw on his face his endless scams. He then complained. Ok it was harsh but he started it. And also all my claims are proven whereas his attacks are cheap attacks.
chess.com doesn’t really make an inquiry (takes too much time for them) but they simply mute you which take less than a second.
also what they should do is send you a message asking why such posts were written and ask you to remove them yourself. But also this takes a few minutes to write you a message. They don’t have time even if i’m a diamond member here. I think that my contributions are in general wise. All the past content is erased forever

please don't take your flame war here.
Also, the complaint will still be filed after the offending posts, meaning that they still remain.

I usually behave as a gentlemen. i'm a respected and respectful MD PhD in anesthesiology intensive care and pain management. So you can imagine my patience and im not keen to verbally or physically attack anyone.

Many mutes are due to a reason, and the site wants a lot of that content gone. If you happen to have a contributor that had a lot of valid content and they were closed for a non-content reason, you can open a ticket to support and they have been known to unmute the account so the content is shown.
If the account is still open and just muted, I don't know for sure if they have a way to do it, but they might, so a ticket may help if that is the case.

Thanks! Let's hope that @musketeerchess2017 is able to restore his previous posts by raising a ticket.
Hello,
I observe very frequently that chess.com members have their account muted, and all messages that they have posted in the past are gone forever.
Especially the deletion of old content has a negative impact on more people than just the muted person. Without knowing the reason for muting a person, the older messages may have been valuable content, or meaningful contributions to discussions, or written moves in exciting forum games.
So my question to the chess.com staff would be: please keep forum content intact even when muting a person for whatever valid reason.
