How come there is a social crisis, what is the cause?

You and your friends rejoiced when I was unfairly muted, and now you're here complaining about how unfair chess.com is. Haha

I’m guessing they muted you because you acted like you had moderator powers... going after trolls or something... only to end up doing the very thing you thought you were fighting against.

I posted this in my thread, but I'll paraphrase it here as well.

To Chess.com:

I've noticed that many users claim to be harassed by trolls, yet in reality, they often choose to engage with these so called trolls instead of simply blocking or ignoring them. If you don’t engage, you can’t be trolled.

People already know they shouldn’t respond to trolls, but they still do because there’s no real consequence. Then they turn around and present themselves as victims.

I suggest implementing a system where users who repeatedly interact with known troublemakers also face consequences, such as extended mutes or bans. This would help reduce trolling by discouraging unnecessary interactions and minimizing false reports.

you were fairly muted

they unmuted you even though everyone else and I know that your first 2 accounts got banned

I won't state the usernames here

Chess.com, here’s the first account you can test this new system on.

Instead of simply blocking and reporting me, he seems to think he has moderator powers and is publicly accusing me of violating the TOS.

People like this should be muted. Ironically, he doesn’t even realize that he’s the one breaking the rules.

I’ve already blocked and reported him as a troll because of the nonsense he tried to pull in one of my threads.

I would've been banned if I was a troll

Although you say this

You pull every bit of nonsense from every fiber of the universe.

It's a fair mute to be honest.

Ian, don't you dare respond to that comment. That's just bait. Pull yourself away.

rip... I was too slow

I can get muted. It is fine with me. It just proves midnight's point more about muting people who have barely done anything. And not muting people obviously doing insane things.

BasixWhiteBoy

VVS doesn't deserve a mute. He has some dumb opinions, but he can easily be ignored by everyone. I'm not sure why everyone finds that so difficult to do.

is-this-allowed

yea good bye u all

Just obseeve chess.com. This child Iansicles came here to publicly accuse me, but if you muted him now, he’d just complain, saying, "This only proves Midnight's point about muting people who’ve barely done anything while ignoring those doing obviously outrageous things."

You need to roll out the system I suggested as soon as possible to put an end to this kind of mindset.

Refuse to engage

I'll just say that you once said you were 11

So we are both children ig

I got muted for the 6th time. The reason I got muted was because I "spammed" in the daily puzzle comments (as confirmed by EnPecan) which I did not even remotely spam. The 4th or 5th mute was from trolls' spam reporting my account or photoshopping my messages to seem like I said that. And chess.com doesn't even disclose to you what community guideline violation you broke when you get muted. Not even that. All while trolls and spammers run rampant.
I didn't even try to contact the support team because the support team is garbage. They don't respond to your tickets or requests or just ignore you. The longest time I have been waiting to receive a response from them until they finally responded was 20 days in August (not even a holiday month).
The moderators are "ok" but they are not great. @Wind @Staerex (maybe), @martin_stahl and EnPecan are probably the only good ones left. But most of them say when you have a request to "contact support" which never or rarely works.
And the reporting system sucks as well. Most people that spam or abuse don't get muted or banned. Take @winnie_kitty_girl for example. She has been spamming her blogs in multiple/a lot of the clubs I am in and when I reported her multiple times, nothing was done.
And you have do go to external sources to get people banned/muted etc. (on discord or reddit)
Then the number of abusive messages people are receiving (because I am on the chess.com subreddit) is crazy.
CHESS.COM (SOCIAL) IS IN A CRISIS!!!

just don't use chess.com social and focus on your chess

problem solved

Some people hate to see whether it's acceptable between each other because they're friends

That's one example of a fair mute
