Chess Puzzle Remake Ruined my engagement
@Mekju_Soju:
Since the launch of the new puzzles rating system (explained here: https://www.chess.com/news/view/announcing-new-puzzles-rating-system), you can change the puzzles difficulty in https://www.chess.com/settings/gameplay.
With "Difficulty = Standard", the system proposes puzzles that are too easy (so you lose more puzzle rating for failing in a puzzle than you get for completing it). But if you choose "Difficulty = Extra Hard", the system should propose puzzles close to your puzzles rating (and you will lose or get similar puzzle rating).
Chess.com puzzles are no longer a functional training system.
Puzzle rating gains are hard-capped at +3 / +4, while misses are routinely −12 to −15. That alone makes improvement mathematically irrational
Upside never increases. Ever.
No catch-up, no confidence adjustment, no reward for outperforming expectation.
Rated puzzles are broken beyond usefulness. They don’t measure skill, they don’t reward effort, and they actively push players away from training.
It's just a system designed to punish you for playing.
