Custom Rating Range Feedback

Chess.com members, I have a question for you

If you visit https://www.chess.com/settings/live you will see that you have these settings:

You can specify separate ranges for incoming challenges and outgoing separately:

- Incoming means only those inside the range can send you challenges

- Outcoming means only those in your range will be paired with you for open seeks.

Frequently, we get messages from members who (as in the screenshot above) have set a range for incoming but left outgoing blank. They then send an open seek and are surprised to have it accepted by someone who is outside of that range.

I personally (along with quite a few members) find it confusing to have two separate settings for incoming and outgoing and would like to consolidate them into one clean setting.

Before we try to make this setting more clear and streamlined, I would really like to hear feedback and make sure there isn't an overwhelming number of you out there who like being able to have different ranges for who can challenge you vs who can accept your open seeks.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

What if I want to receive or send challenges from or to friends who are higher or lower rated than me, to play for fun, without having to worry that I'd be matched up with a higher or lower rated player in a normal game? Just a thought happy.png

One range both for incoming and oh er outstanding, for incoming and outgoing should be sufficient

We do have a setting for "friends can challenge me no matter what"

I agree with having one range for incoming and outgoing.

I have no problem with the settings as they are now other than it would be nice to be able to select ranges in 25 point increments instead of 50.
