It’s fun..remember what that was old man?🤣
Well, I am old, that's for sure. And by the way, old age is a privilege not afforded to everyone. Anyway, I've had fun my whole life, so it's not much of a feat to remember it. But if you think insulting people, disrespecting them, and arguing incessantly about things that are not worth arguing about, then your idea of fun is way different from mine. Those things definitely aren't fun for me.
What was fun for me was flying a supersonic jet in the U.S. Air Force, having devoted a year of my life to learn how. Fun was being the captain of my high school wrestling team, walking my daughter down the aisle, being the Vice President of a large company and helping them to be hugely successful, having a wife who I love deeply and with her, raising kids and now getting to know our grandkids, going to church and being inspired every Sunday by an amazing pastor, and being a millionaire.
So, don't be surprised when I don't envy your version of fun.
"If you don't change direction, where you're headed is where you'll end up". Remember that quote, because with your attitude, you're headed nowhere.
Hopefully, someone in authority will see this.
Some of the threads have degenerated into little more than bickering and insult trading at a level that would make Facebook proud. I would ask a moderator to look at a few threads in particular:
Is there luck in chess?
Are chess players athletes?
Is chess a sport?
These discussions have become disgraceful and I would think an embarrassment to this fine site. I won't mention any names or quote anyone, but these threads are rife with insults and name calling, with no redeeming value. In my opinion, they should be closed and some posters should be at least warned about being disrespectful to others. Your "relevant and kind" request is being ignored, to say the least.
