With the latest additions, and the following settings, the new review is now on-par with the old one.
- Do not display a coach
- Review as your own colour only
- Do not display best moves.

Btw, didn't analysis use to show the best move arrow AFTER you played a move ?
Yes. There was a recent change in how that works and it will now show the best move in analysis, if enabled, once the engine hits a depth of 14
Give us the option to either pick the old UI, or at least make this ugly UI much smaller, so I can see more things at the same time.
Listen to your customers, don't ignore them. Otherwise we will migrate to Lichess.
I will also not renew my subscription if this new review system remains the way it is. A step backwards in every way.

Every time I use "game review" I will post this...I miss the old days when we had the best game review in the world! Now we have the Chess Kids version. "(

I'm just gonna do this
Can anyone advise please how to enable coach comments on web version? I.e. "this leads to a lost pawn" etc?
I have this in my mobile version but in web version it just says "best, excellent, good" through all my game moves.
This game for example

You need to be a diamond member to get Coach's comments on every Game Review. Platinum members get help from Coach once per day, but have unlimited access to the rest of Game Review.
Everyone hates it, but Martin the Mod says it's here to stay. Whoever is on the "staff" are making some changes, but they won't roll it back. So much for what paying customers think.
This is unfortunately the way this site treats its users. I think they're basically pandering to the huge swarm of kids and terrible players who might get bored or confused by too much accurate and to-the-point analysis. Somehow, the analysis is even worse. In one game it lauds my decision to offer an "even exchange" when my decision was to trade queens after obtaining an endgame advantage. The difference between one way of describing an action and the other is very important, especially for inexperienced players. Whoever programmed these inane "coaching" comments really needs to be replaced.

Thanks! I bought my platinum membership and didn't figure it out. When I had fee membership I always had one review with Coah's comments and liked it. Now with Platinum membership I have unlimited reviews but lost that one review with Coach comments given that I rarely play and review more than one game per day, premium membership is kind of downgrade for me, lol
Maybe we could start petitioning our favourite YouTubers to cover this? Surely they won't like it either?
Hmmmm. Thats actually the best idea I've heard so far. GO GO Gotham!! I miss the old days when we had the best game review in the world! Now we have the Chess Kids version. "(
This comment from ii-dont-know-how-to-playy is the most valid criticism I have read of the new Game Review among the hundreds of complaints: "(and the biggest problem) is that is is showing me the best move when showing me my mistakes which literally makes the review pointless."
Everyone hates it, but Martin the Mod says it's here to stay.
Do you have a link for that? If this is true I am cancelling my paid membership immediately. I won't move over to lichess because I can't stand their UI either, but I sure as **** ain't paying any money to support this garbage dump fire of a game review.

Right here plain as can be- just outright says that even though they're aware the majority of the feedback has been negative they don't care one bit about what their paying users (in my case for more than a decade) think about what they do. What's the point in continuing to fork out money to a company that has shown it'll make deleterious changes to their product, offer no explanation whatsoever as to why these changes were 'necessary', and then ignore the ensuing public outcry? Anyone who shells out for a year's subscription at this point is just gambling that they don't do the same thing to live chess etc.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ov93YjTZ70we should ask Gotham again !
Adding to this thread to register my complaint about this change.
The biggest: The increased number of steps for EVERY move.
I want to see the Best Move with each move.
Before, I could have the mouse cursor over the 'Next Move' button and both the 'Played' and 'Best Move' bubble was visible.
Now, I have to move the mouse up, scroll down, (no longer seeing both pieces of information simultaneously) and then have to move the mouse back down to 'Next Move'.
You have introduced a minimum of 3 (assuming you don't scroll between the two bubbles) unnecessary steps to get the desired information.
For. Every. Single. Move!
This is beyond disappointing. This will hinder my ability to fully analyse games compared to how it was before.
Why? @eric @drittman13
