Hello chess.com admins,
My father has been playing chess on your website chess.com via Samsung TV's built in internet browser. Everything was fine up until today, my father was enjoying playing chess on chess.com regularly, but this morning something in your website changed. The computer opponent is taking too long to move even on the easiest settings. It was painful to watch my father play chess like that. I've done some preliminary tests; I disconnected the TV from the internet and found that the game is still working. It might be that your website has off-loaded some of the chess AI processing onto the browser. The problem is, it seems Samsung TVs doesn't have that much processing power to make the AI choose a move fast enough. This could be a problem for those playing on their TV, not just on Samsung TV sets. Please do consider assessing these situations on your system design where low CPU powered devices are running your website's code.
My father would be happy to play on your website again, he's really disappointed in other chess websites' offerings.
Thanks for reading and have a pleasant day.
With regards.
It is very unlikely chess.com will or can do anything to support your father's playing on chess.com via the Samsung proprietary browser. A google search reveals many people complaining about the limitations of the Samsung Tizen browser.
You will probably be much better off getting a phone with Chromecast or Roku to work with the TV.
