I tried rematching from this position, in order to play it as white and found that the new game would be from the default initial position.

I tried rematching from this position, in order to play it as white and found that the new game would be from the default initial position.
A rematch would only take into account the time control and rating state. Starting from a custom position is likely rare, so it isn't something even looked at in that case.
