Review Doesn't Work

I'm still kind of new here, but until today I got one free "Game Review" each day. Today, I didn't get any. After the game, I clicked on "game review" as usual, and it went to the page, but then nothing happened. I tried "refresh" several times but the page just shows a "start review" button, which does nothing if you click it. Also, there are hyphens (-) instead of the usual numbers in the evaluation/accuracy boxes. Is it just me?

 

EDit: After a Ctrl+F5, it finally worked. So nevermind.

I'm not getting EXACTLY what you're seeing, but the "hyphen" thing showed up for me today. Instead of an evaluation number, the boxes that normally display the numbers only have hyphens (dashes). Full refresh didn't change anything.

Try clearing your browser cache. You should be getting unlimited reviews.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. (To be clear, my issue wasn't quite like Anderson's. I *am* able to do the review. It's just the numbers - CAPS - that aren't showing up, on one particular game for some reason. This one: https://www.chess.com/analysis/game/computer/2472609 - against a bot.)

Edit: clearing the cache didn't help, but again it's just that one game. Not a big deal.

I'm getting a error message on that game when trying to run a review. Actually, all the bot games in your profile are throwing the same error. I'll bug report.

Interestingly, I'm having no issues with the other bot games; just that specific game. (If it helps, I'm using Firefox, Windows 10 Home - and also sometimes the Android app. I *AM* able to get the CAPS score in the Android app for that game, by the way, just not on the PC.)

I tried a number of bot games on your profile and of the ones I tried, I got error messages.

(Again, I can see my eval/CAPS in the app, and in the archives, just not on the review page.)

EDIT: Can't see it in the archive anymore. I guess using Game Review on the website removed the CAPS numbers that were previously there, from the app's eval.

We’ve gotten a few reports about this and are looking into it. We haven’t found a way to reproduce it reliably yet but are working on it. For those who are seeing this error, is it happening to you repeatedly or randomly?

This was on the website, is mobile different? Also, when you click the link, do you get the CAPS numbers or hyphens just like me?

I see the hyphens when I click your link. But I'm trying to figure out what causes the hyphens on any random Game Review more generally. Because I haven't been able to get them to appear on any of my games. Though it may just be a random bad luck kinda thing with a server. Which we're looking into as well and will try to fix if that's the issue!

Do you think that maybe it was because the game had many mistakes and yet, two brilliant moves? Maybe this caused the computer to become confused about which CAPS score to assign. As you can see, is was quite a game.

This issue has been resolved in my end. I now get the CAPS numbers. So thank you for fixing this for me happy.png

So far, it *seems* random, but I haven't done enough troubleshooting to be certain. As Martin indicated above, it seems to happen more often with my games versus bots (and rarely with my games versus humans). I had another thread (from August: https://www.chess.com/forum/view/help-support/analysis-percentage-not-showing-for-some-games ) where I noted some games wouldn't show the eval number if I'd first run the report in mobile and then tried to access it via the website.

But sometimes I run the report on mobile (Android) and then I *can* see the numbers on the website. Sometimes if I wait a few days and then run the report again, it works.

Here's another one (this time against human): https://www.chess.com/analysis/game/daily/373395513 I ran the report on Android app first (got 82.1% eval), but when I do game review on the website, I get only hyphens (dashes) instead of CAPS scores.

Yes, I can see the hyphens. Strange, as my human game that was showing those (above) is not fixed. It seems there is a larger problem here
