I was reading a book "Encyclopedia of Chess Wisdom" by Eric Schiller. The book has a lot of mistakes. So I contacted the publisher to see whether they have a list of errors for that book. The publisher, Cardozo Books, who publishes also gambling and games books told me if I send a copy of my notes listing errors in the book they will send me a book of my choosing as a courtesy. Needless to say, that book never came. My calls for follow up never responded or returned.

that particular member might have been changing his/her/its/their gender identity a few times during the writing of the post and the op just wanted to be sensitive to it. happens these days.
A member contacted me to " improve my chess for money". Of course s/he wanted me to pay first!? No surprise there. When I told the person I'm not interested. He kept insisting at his offer. I asked about arrangements. He started accusing me "looking to get freebies". Then s/he started cursing as he became aware that I am not falling for her/his scam.
