Has there been a change to the number of point rewarded for correct answers? I am getting very few points for solving puzzles that are roughly equal to or below my rating but still taking large rating deductions for incorrect answers. I have lost over 100 rating points in about a week so I suspect there has been a change in the point calculation.
It is pretty aggravating because it means there is really nothing to gain from attempting puzzles that are roughly equal to my rating. I will need to answer 3-4 correctly to equal one miss. I don't get to select the puzzle difficulty, so if Chess.com keeps throwing low rated puzzles at me (which it does), I am bound to miss a few here and there and drop rating points.
There are two main components to a tactic. The moves and the time taken to solve. I looked at your recent archive, and the ones you solved with low points, took a lot longer than the target time to solve, so you got fewer points.
