I appreciate all the work you put into improving the platform and providing great tools for chess players to analyze their games. I’d like to suggest a couple of improvements to the game analysis tool that I believe would enhance the experience for many users.
1. Brilliant Move Criteria: Currently, it seems that a move is classified as “Brilliant” mainly when it involves a sacrifice. However, I believe this definition is too narrow. There are many cases where a move is exceptional—whether it’s the only good move in a complex position, a deep positional maneuver, or a tactical shot that doesn’t necessarily involve a sacrifice. Expanding the criteria for Brilliant moves would make the analysis tool more informative and rewarding.
2. Additional Analysis Engines: While Stockfish is an incredible engine, it often evaluates positions in a purely tactical and brute-force manner. I think it would be beneficial to introduce alternative engines that have a more human-like evaluation style, such as a Magnus Bot or a Mikhail Tal Bot. These engines could help players understand positions in a way that mimics human intuition and creativity, rather than just depth of calculation.
I believe these additions would greatly improve the analysis experience for many players, making it both more insightful and engaging. Thank you for considering these suggestions, and I appreciate all the work you do to make Chess.com the best platform for chess improvement.
Best regards,
