lol! The rating levels are so arbitrary as well, I literally got a notif for someone passing 1436....
Exactly...are they going to give a notification every time one person makes at least 1 rating point?

I apologize if I've contributed to the problem, and will take steps immediately to remedy that.
It's no one's fault but chess.com's.
They should not remove it(Not that anyone said that but I'm just saying) because some people do probably like it.
Make it an-option instead. Problem solved.

A big part of the problem is not just that this addition is stupid, but also that they're putting everything into useless additions like these instead of working on things that people have been complaining about for years.

I agree 100%
(Ironically I have agreed with your argument for IDK how long and made a comment supporting a type of idea that I don't support anymore for some stupid reason. I guess I need more sleep lol)
chess.com has way too many gimmicks and fluff, needs to focus more on the core product (which they've practically neglected).
They dont even care about that, they're just focusing on making the UI look as $h!t as possible

I don't think they give a sh** about anything because people will pay-and-play on there site either way.
Why work when they will get money either way? That's just a dumb idea in there eyes and I can't agree more(Financially speaking)
If chess.com doesn't care then I would suggest going to Li because there they seem to care a little-bit at least(Not much though)

Yup, they just want to keep the cash rolling in.
They should start giving a $h!t because if you piss off members, they quit, so less $$$.

People will deal with it and continue to pay-and-play because they believe every-single-possible-excuse chess.com gives for there lack of caring.
BTW can we take the conversation into messages? I would love to continue it and am afraid of being censored if I say to much....
Indeed, that is super nonsense, hope they remove it.
I have cancelled my premium membership after several non action where they should act and now this. Just confirmed I did it right.

I've not bought a membership in two years and don't plan on buying one ever again.

So much fluff it reminds me of Charmin toilet tissue ... and you know wherethat is used
This update is probably going to be rolled back soon and modified.
This shouldn't be going anymore; at least until they revamp it
Isn't there an option to turn off certain notifications like when a friend passes a certain rating? I think I turned it off and I never receive those types of notifications.
I do agree that some of the interface changes seem silly when many core issues are neglected. Perhaps chess.com should reconsider why most people come to their website (TO PLAY CHESS).
Isn't there an option to turn off certain notifications like when a friend passes a certain rating? I'm sure if we take 3+ years to study the chess.com thousand page users manual we might find that answer.

You bring up a good point. The transparency of all of the features and rules on chess.com. Perhaps their help support needs to change. I look through the rules but am still surprised to see new ones I haven't heard of
This is so fecking useless, I can't even fathom why this ridiculous BS was added.
I have 324 friends, so I'm basically getting a notification every time one of those 324 people passes a certain rating. NOBODY NEEDS AN EFFING NOTIFICATION FOR SOMETHING AS POINTLESS AS THIS!! This isn't called making the site "better", it's called digging a hole and putting yourself in it. Because that's exactly what CC is doing. Many people I know have quit the site because they're adding nonsense like this instead of fixing how the site runs, the UI, etc.
Oh well, this site is a joke now and has been for a while. Just don't be surprised when loyal members start quitting (a lot have done so already), CC, it's your fault.
