It wasn't an ad, it was a chess.com message. Neither should pop up during play.
Almost as bad are the messages that pop-up while you're seeking a game and stay there obscuring part of the board after the game starts, so you have to take the time to close them. I don't understand the mentality behind this kind of nonsense.
A bullet game no less. And why was it gone when the game was over? I lose on time in part because of the distraction, and then I can't even know what it was about?
Chess.com has the worst UI.
