Announcements for tournaments don't seem to work very well either.

RuneTonseth

I didnt know that. But if that is true chess.com can surley take alook at amount of chess games on the daily database to see that it have dropped down alot

Precious2c

If you guys see something or don't see something working, please submit a ticket to Support Staff. It's the only way they will know something is wrong to fix it.

RuneTonseth

We sure will. But News Alerts are hopefully reinstalled as old version soon. We really struggle with team matches now. Sending PM to 150 members to remind them about a team match is not fun.

Precious2c

I know, Rune. Sorry you are having to do that. By the way, how did your match end up with FM LullabyVisca's group?

RuneTonseth

...happy.png We are leading. But unsporting and bad behaviour in the team match notes are at least gone. Thank you for that.

Precious2c

You are very welcome! Glad to hear you are leading..hope you win the match. Way too much bad sportsmanship from them, especially from their leader.

Spacebux

Interesting. So chess.com banned a WFM for sportsmanship violations?

gambit-man

there was far more than bad sportsmanship going on... but we're veering off topic with that...

Spacebux

I just find it rather ironic that so many others seem to "know" what was going on with LV than just a handful of staff.

I'm going to throw this out there - several in this discussion have scolded me repeatedly for scribing something off-topic in one or more of their group forums.  They are first in line to throw the ToS book at me.  Yet, those same persons seem perfectly content to not follow those same rules when it suits them.

And, here we are, in a very open forum, and staff are openly discussing a situation with a player's account, even though they "value the privacy of {their} patrons".

Rules apply to some, but not to others... seems like a common theme in our society these days.

Continued discussion on this topic will lead only to the thread being locked by staff, but if you care to start a topic over in CF i will be happy to contribute...

Please don't bust this topic, it clearly has the support of prominent admins around the site

Spacebux

I was kicked out of CF by some of those very holier-than-thous..

"Please don't bust this topic, it clearly has the support of prominent admins around the site" ... typical; I'm not the one who initiated the deviation (it was actually a staff member), yet, I'll be the one who garners the blame.

Precious2c

Spacebux, Just to clear things up, I didn't discuss what was done to the "leader" of that group. I never said she was banned for bad sportsmanship, nor did I advise what was done to her. We do maintain the "privacy of members" on this site.

I will say, when someone breaks the rules on this site, they are dealt with directly.

I don't know what group CF is or what happened, however, when a forum is public, and things are said or done that breaks the rules, there can be consequences for such. Could of been a group admin that dealt with your situation, not sure.

The best thing to keep in mind is to have fun and follow the rules of the group you are in and with the ToS you agreed to when signing up here on the site.

When you say, "a Staff member" in the above post, not sure if you mean the actual Staff here on chess.com or are speaking about a Super Admin or Admin of a group. There is a difference.

YES! Now my team can get over 50 on each match with news posts!

Precious2c

I'm very happy that the improvements to the news were made too Joakim!  Thank you and everyone for all of your hard work in this important and vital matter.

It truly may have not been changed if something wasn't presented to chess.com Staff.

You guys are the best! happy.png
