Chess App Message Notification

Hi All,

I use the Chess.com App to play with friends all over the world.  The app is excellent.  Although when I message a friend in the app during a game, it doesn't notify the person that there is a unread message waiting.  This could be as simple as a small "1" in the top right corner of message icon which would notify the player.

I have played games with my friends and sent messages that they never read because they didn't know I sent a message unless they check the website which may not be too frequently.

Has anyone else had the same thought?

Best,

They should get the notfication after. Leaving the game screens isn't really a good idea. I've seen posts about iOS causing resignations in such cases.

Just be clear. I normally play Online turn based chess (1-2 days). However, if my friend messages me in between moves I get a notification icon that he moved but not when he writes me a message. Therefore if I don't check the website he could have written me a paragraph and I would never know unless I click on the message icon in the online app to check every time I move.

I agree with StatisFunk and have posted about this too. The in-game chat feature needs to have robust notification otherwise it hobbles useful banter/discussion.
