chess.com is fun!
other sites are boring.
Chess.com is the best by far. Others don't even come close.
I agree.
It's cos we have more dogs on this site
Sure Chess.com has lots of features, many of them being highly instructional - I've seen that for myself. But the basic gold membership barely let's one experience this, sadly.
I'm still very disappointed though because of the things I had mentioned before. My connection is flying, I have super stable access to all other services I use so I don't see how that's my fault and not that of the server.
And YES to me it is important how another person acts towards me. When 50% of the times I am up against someone who will try to go for the cheapest and dirtiest win and then curses on top of it, then it's my ... right to complain all the whole lot I want about the community. Put your smart-ass glasses aside ladies and gentlemen I have seen how people act around here and there are a few diamonds but mostly there is a complete lack of any etiquette whatsoever.
And that is something that goes beyond me.
4. for players up to master level, i think chess.com is the best value for instructional material that i have found in terms of chess videos and the chess mentor. beyond master level, chess 24 has more/better material catered to such players that is repertoire specific.
You mean Peter Svidlers 12+ hr video on the Grunfeld...hahaha...yeah they did blow us out of the water with that. Quality over quantity I suppose...
1. just blocking rude people is simple and works fine, right click name/ block member.
2. some people are here to play not to talk. it's an international community and the site exists in several languages and many users do not speak english well or at all.
3. connection issues, try other playsites. generally speaking i find lichess.org to be the most lag free. i probably have connection issues far more than the average user as my internet is a bit spotty so making a determination on whose end there is a problem, u can try pinging the server, refreshing the page or trying accessing other sites at the time u are having issues. chess.com does get a variety of strong players though i prefer playing on the icc as they have the most strongest players that i can play, and also they have 1/3/5/15 minute player pools and i like the opportunity to play a top gm sometimes (caruana was playing yesterday and my ratings are high enough that i could have played him). maybe chess24 has strong player pools too on occasion but their playzone is more clunky than that of chess.com.
