V3 has worked fine for me. I dont play live chess, so i dont know about the "slowness" issues. I have read that bugs are still be worked out so that probably explains the slowness.
Express if you like or do not like the new version of the site
The old site has always worked fine for me, only play correspondence and a bit of old school " if it works well why fix it" mentality comes in -
We need to see more opinions.
I see that in so far prevailing opinions expressed preference for V2.
Come on, let's hear more voices ...
I believe that the opinion will be important.
Since we all spend part of the sweetest minute here.
Let's be specific - specify strengths and weaknesses.
Do a search of the forums. There are a number of topics about v3 and v2 and I don't think the preference is that pronounced overall.
v3 is coming and v2 will go away. It is just a matter of time and code fixes/polishing.
2 of us tried setting up the new live tournaments for clubs. It was a complete waste, only the guys who created them were able to see them.Every member of the group should have seen them at the top of the live tournament list, but not.
How far into the future did you set their starting time?
IIRC, they only show up when they are open for registration (starting in 1h or less). Of course, the creator of the the tournament sees them from the start so that he/she can cancel them if need be.
Only erik can answer that. We have already passed my estimates on when v3 would become the default site. v2 retirement might still happen around the end of the year but based on my previous guesses, I wouldn't bet on it ![]()
I begin to tremble.
It looks disaster ahead.
Why Eric does not remain v2 active?
So all will be satisfied!

The man power, time, money, etc to maintain 2 versions of the same site is not practical. Change can be hard on some, but we all get past that.
Because staff can't support two versions, associated codebases, and handle general customer support on two versions over the long haul.
Wow!
Time to expand purposes ...
This saddens me and reminds me of how insignificant I really am.
Nothing can be done.
The wave will come as I do not like it.
If I understand correctly, there are less than 3 months.
I think v3 is excellent. It appears to be much faster than v2, so I don't know what the OP is talking about it being slow.
It's much more intuitive than v2--has more features, such as variant support.
I guess some people take a while to adjust and I'm sure the OP will one day like v3--as opposed to v4!
No, he simply understands the past will repeat itself. V3 has more features and works better than V2, so the reason you don't want to change is you are used to the old version.
I like v3. A bit of a learning curve but once you get used to it things work well. 99% of the time I'm on the site I'm on v3, across full computers and mobile browsers. Have been on v3 the vast majority of the time for the past year.
