Please give us at least one or two usernames of the people who designed V3, to see how many games have they played before, if they ever have played one, in on-line chess on this site

Thanks for the reply, Martin. Can I assume that "at some point", your version of v3 will incorporate the best of v2, especiallky "familiarity" ? I can't say for sure what changes will ultimately happen. If you take a look at the v3 group, you will see some thing suggested there.
For example, a change to the default homepage is coming, and people can change to that if they want.

I'm not staff though, just a moderator. But I don't think you'll see more than just the discussion and potential changes thst come about because of those discussions.
I have used the V3 today and I admit is not so bad as it was in the beginning
many things are better and apart of the difficulty in finding the explorer, analysis and conditional moves when you play a game, due to symbols without any colours or letters
all the other parameters are functional
the homepage is not so attractive like in V2
game explorer is a disaster
I will miss my 20 themes and the personalisation of the homepage with the many colours

We have a new home option coming early next week!
They are working at making the homepage more palatable for those more comfortable with the v2 format.

If you add some colour to the symbols of analysis, conditional moves (red instead of grey)
it would be easier for the user to spot them

and I can't really understand why they had to destroy all the magic of a beautiful, successful and beloved pattern like V2 and construct a new site from the beginning only to have some better facilities in the statistical numbers and the links
I mean it sounds more reasonable to me and this is what i should have done, to keep the old platform and make all the improvements with the links and the statistics there. i can't believe it couldn't be done. It makes no sense to create all this confusion and destruction only for some small improvement
I mean you don't bring down Acropolis in order to fix its hydraulic system
And I still I'm asking if it is possible V2 to continue and be improved in the links and the statistical results, so in this way all of us, we'll still keep the magic and the easy time
I will continue to play in V2 as long as it exists cause I don't want to lose my cool smiley anyway
I like the old one for everything except tactics, because I don't use Java, and for live chess. This variation has a lot of new chess variants! Not to be mean to the old version, though.

There are some older topics where erik went into more detail but the v2 code had grown very complex over time, in such a way that made it harder to extend and improve. To add features, such as the Live variants, it was going to take a full rewrite anyway.
The back-end code is pretty much a complete rewrite and the front-end was modified to take advantage of the new code and more modern design.
The actual GUI could potentially look like anything but regardless of the visual representation the site will be better off once v2 is gone and some of the other technical changes erik has previously mentioned can be made.

The mobile app is great and I have no problem with it. However, when I tried to register to a match, it switched to the new design and I found it impossible to be able to register the match! Not to mention that I have to login every time as it does not seem to remember it, regardless if I tick or not the "memorise" option or not.
When I click on the link to open the match in order to enter it, it does not open the correct page and I end up in the meanders of the site, unable to find the correct page. Does anyone have the same problem or can help me either by:
1. indicating me how to get to the selected match page.
2. showing me how to revert to the old site,
3. correting this bug?

After I use the Explorer in V3 there's no icon to take me back to the actual game, so I have to go to all my games to re-select it.
Bruce you just close the window of explorer to continue in your game
but is very difficult to discover where explorer is , may be you were tired by this
