too dark. i'm sticking with this, even though there's really incredible content there. the drills were pretty cool, but it's all doomy and gloomy.

there's a reason that facebook and reddit and chess.com dominated their respective platforms: they had a simple, sleek, light color scheme and display, with solid content.

the new chess.com is like an e-cellar. :-/

batgirl

I don't get the "dark" complaints.

I think v3 is much slower. The people who love v3 are for some reason accepting this. Speed is everything on the Internet. Waiting for pages everyone grows older.

batgirl

I find it to be much faster than v2.  I guess it's individual in that respect.

Almost too bright-

Was autimatically transferred to v3 for some reason  and struggled hard! Couldn't find Daily Puzzle and in online chess summary boards failed to keep up with play or show any alert after opponent moved. Also,no names on game boards. Not good!

Aspasa

v3? it's still kinky. e.g. daily puzzle not always showing and today, 2nd level menus disappear-on-hover.

I started a new topic (Using Mentor new format) under Chess Mentor category while in v3 and added two more posts to it. They never showed up under most recent but when I switched back to v2, there they were.

Seems many quirks under v3. Does chess.com really think it is ready?

batgirl

Be sure to send in a bug report as that's probably the best way to ensure its readiness.

I find quirks in v3 from time to time, but then again, I'm still finding quirks in v2.... go figure.

Thanks, I will.

Lots of good stuff in v3 but it's hard to break old habits developed under v2.

Going to keep plugging away.

Thanks again.

oh cool. i saw the option to change the chessboard, but didn't realize i could change the background. thanks! <3

shenanigator

how do i change the background without changing the "theme"?

batgirl

Change background under "background."  The themes are below that.

My conclusion of Chess.com v3: It is far better than v2. Everthing (almost) is better. So a big thanks to the chess.com developer community!!

Apparently, no one cares.

Most recent has some lag. My guess is that it has something to do with v2 and v3 running in parallel.

In V2 everthing is Ok so I am happy!

Yea, same here. But they are going to take v2 away even if millions are happy with it.  Frown
