Firefox 51.0b1 (32-bit)

Thanks batgirl.  I noted that after I posted.

I'm using Firefox 50 64-bit, would that make a difference?

There must be a very serious reason to insist on this total destruction of the site and deny to return to the "Tried & True"  V2

I appears that it might.  You've done the usual clear cache and cookie dance?

As an aside, I can't believe this is an issue; a difference in the 64/32 bit version decides a web element?  Jeepers, something is seriously broken somewhere -- and I don't mean chess.com either.  Some of these responsive design development tools really suck vacuum when it comes to translating to the destop (or to certain hand held devices).

I've run across two different websites that failed to render properly on my phone because the slide out menu obscures everything and can't be slid back when on the landing page.  They failed in exactly the same way, which of course leads one to think they're using the same service or tool to create the design.  Hard fail.  Lots of them on the net at the moment.

Spacebux made an interesting point in comment #1031. What is the purpose of this thread to start with?

Some may assume that chess.com wanted to get some feedback of what needs to be corrected. However, it does seem that in fact the chess.com people are actually looking to explain to anyone who doesn't like v3 why they (the users) are wrong, rather than correcting the bad stuff in v3.

That is likely caused from the fact that so many users dislike so many things in v3, it really can't be fixed.

So rather than fixing it, they are just trying to convince everyone to like it.

Actually, it's a beta version:

I just checked on Firefox 49 and flip board was there. Going to upgrade now.

Martin_Stahl

Still there on Firefox 50. Cleared cache and tried again, still there.

Windows 7 64-bit.

Do the people with problems have any plugins that might be interfering?

And yeah, the other two machines I use with regularity have FF Developer Edition which is on version 51, though there might be an update available.

I uninstalled the 64-bit version and downloaded and installed the 32-bit Firefox 50, but alas, still no resize/flip icon...at this point I give up.frustrated.png

Since the topic was started in October, it started as a way to gauge if people liked v3 or not. A lot of people have since posted problems they have encountered, whether or not they like v3, and then some questions have been answered, though not always to everyone's satisfaction.

So, it wasn't started by the site to solicit feedback. There have been other topics for that and the v3 group in particular. They have been gathering feedback for the past two years and over the time I have been testing and running on v3 a lot of things have changed.

Brrr.  I'll log in to version three to check my self.  If I can't make it back...I'd like the statue in my honour to be made of light, pure light. Tongue Out

I know you are tired of testing but there is at  least one other option. I ran into a very weird bug 6 months ago or so where my Firefox profile was apparently corrupted. It was causing some really weird issues. Loading a fresh profile, caused the problems to go away.

Might be worth a shot, to see if it could be that.

OK Martin. Thanks. You are doing a good job.

I would not want to be the one trying to defend v3.

I just looked at one of the existing images. Just get one that looks good at 1,440px × 900px

The site apparently upscales them to that size.

lol

I hovered and it appeared.  The hot spot is quite small and needs to be almost on top of the (blech) icon.  Is there a particular reason why they can't be there all the time?

Also, I discovered that I was already at the maximum size.  It's offensive that I have to give up half(third-ish? whatever) of my screen when I don't have to.  The two text boxes are inordinately huge.  In the uploaded screen shot I've indicated the maximum acceptable size.

That will be a free year of diamond membership please.  Thanks.

That must be very frustrating.  I hope it works itself out.

Wow, my right panel is about half that size, relative to the rest of the screen and closer to your suggested size. At one point you could get a resize arrow to come up on those panels;  haven't tried recently.

Thanks...Martin is trying so hard that I am now going to google how to load a fresh Firefox profile, as per his last suggestion.

I like this site and want it to work.

I found the way to refresh Firefox and my profile was reinstated.

I logged on again and can now see  the resize/flip icon! happy.png

No second resize arrow that I could find.  Looks like the panel size is related to zoom level.  The icons et al are too small on a 1920x1080 screen, sorry.  I would think that with the resize arrow being between the board and the text boxes that the resizing one would make the other smaller.  Doesn't work that way however.  That's a shame, since at times when engaged with the chat, resizing the board smaller to make the chat box bigger seems intuitive.  Conversely, when playing, resizing the board to maximum should make the text boxes as small as possible.

Pesky users, wanting to modify the zoom level and thus screwing up the nice clean design...how dare they!
