You can still choose your colour if you choose to play unrated, or directly challenge a friend.

this is pathetic. lately I have been wanting a refund. I really hope this comes to Erik's attention so that he can reverse it. I would suggest that he make a limit for games in a row with the same color, but not a change this drastic.
We should fill out a petition or something. I also liked the color choice feature.

And it really shouldn't be too hard to see why this new status quo is thought to be best.
random should be random, you can't go couple only-one-colour players to random seekers because there are many more who prefer white. random was becoming mostly black.
The only alternative would be to couple 'only white' to 'only black', but if the random pool was being destabilized to any significant degree by the number of white-seekers...
Well, then seeking as white only in a fair way should mean waiting an eternity.

Erik, I don't want to criticize you guys; I know you have a hard job keeping punks like me happy, but I (and many others) loved this feature, as you can practice when you want, with the colors you want.

why does everyone have to be so chess racist? just play both colors. it's the way bobby fischer intended when he created chess so long ago.
One time you are black the next time you are white and it will go on and on! Some people think they can't play with the black pieces, but they actually can play but they just don't want too. How is it ridiculous?

I am great with both sides of the board. sometimes i would like to have the choice of a color however, and I just think that this complicates matters. how come you sometimes get like 3-5 games in a row with the same color? also, all of my friends are either WAY above my rating level or WAY under my rating level. so when I want an even game with the color of my choice, I am NOT willing to let a cpu decide for me. end of story for me. FINIS
I just noticed this the other day... I know that it is annoying when people only play one color, but this is crazy! maybe there could be a limit to the number of games you can play in a row with one color, but this is getting on my nerves. I really hope that this gets fixed, and am looking foreward to having this feature back again. my admiration for chess.com is waning rapidly.
