Live chess move highlight

I use Windows7 and Chrome browser. When I select a piece in Live Chess, the board highlights the piece (yellow square) . And I can select a piece even BEFORE the opponent's move. But the highlight disappears when the opponent moves! It's very confusing when the opponent played a move I didn't expect and I want to move another piece than I pre-selected. Please correct. Other major chess playing sites has no such problems. And in such cases, how can I de-select the piece (which has no highlight) ? Also, please use different colors for last-move highlight and selected piece highlight.
