I think it's an absolute disgrace that I cannot use this site on a 16 year-old browser on a 20 year-old operating system .

How did you post this forum?

I used my Windows 7 laptop.

Did you know that you can experience Windows 3.1 on your web browser? And no, it doesn't work on Windows 3.1 Frown.

hmm.... :))

I am guessing you had a copy of Windows 3.1 sitting around (on a floppy of course), or how exactly did you obtain such a thing?

For those who asked about the Timex computer. At one time Timex imported computers made in England and sold them under their own Timex brand name. It was 16 kb and was constantly crashing. Nonetheless it was my first computer and I enjoyed playing with it. At that time I was in need of a recording scientific calculator and the Timex computer did the job and was less expensive. I was also trying to learn to program it with Basic and Assembly Language. I was able to learn Basic but never was able to master Assembly Language. Nowadays computers have 16 gb memory and higher which is a billion times bigger. P.S. I had a chess program for it and I was able to easily beat the chess program.

I had one of these way back in 1973 (it cost $39.95):

With the right drivers, it can even access my USB flash drives! I kid you not!

OMG!

Even my USB DVD drive works on it! Surprised It also works in Windows 3.1 and down to Windows 1, released in 1985!

The mind boggles.

Actually, it kind of makes sense. You see, Windows uses DOS for file and disk I/O, so if it works in DOS, it works in Windows Laughing. But still, it felt strange to be using a USB DVD drive made in 2009 on Windows 1.01 (or even 3.1) Smile.

I don't know which was funnier, "The new 16K RAM card that turns your computer into a working giant" or the "Briefcase Portability" one. Laughing
