master games

Since I have been hearing so much from gms and ims that "quickly thumbing through master games for a few seconds eachs helps you recongize patterns" then I suggest chess.com quickly makes a program in whatever language that I can load a huge list of games in .png format with slow, medium, fast, and super fast speed option with start, stop, pause, and analyzise buttons. If chess.com can't or doesn't want to then does anyone know if someone already made this and where would I get it?

Most Chess applications with in-built databases have auto-play. The free and very popular SCID does that as well.

Open up a database, pick a game + set time / move and push play. This really helps if you pick your game database to contain the openings you play often.

Though I've also found it  fun to follow live blitz games between Master+ players because I get to see the time taken per move as well.

i often use this website, it has just about every game  and player  imaginable http://www.chessgames.com/

I am aware of these alternatives however I mean load a huge list of like 50+ games or so then press play and it will automatically go through each game and then when over continue to the next so I can just lay down (or sit) and watch without pressing or doing anything besides preperation.

Fritz and other programs have exactly that auto-play feature, so you can watch a game without moving.

It might be nice to have that kind of feature on chess.com, but there are a couple of drawbacks I can see:

  • Chess.com probably isn't interested in storing large numbers of random games that we each individually upload, it's a lot of resource for a dataset that only a single person gets use from.
  • One way around this is to have centrally curated groups of master games available to choose from on the site.  I think it would be difficult to get groups of games that are of interest to enough people.  For instance, I use Fritz and Chessbase to go through master games that go through a certain position that happens often in my games.  Hugely useful to me, but less so to other people who play different openings or even different lines of the same openings.

Cool!

What fritz version?

I know this is cheating but when I want to see a master game flip by very quickly I usually go play 1 0.

I've got Fritz 11 and 12, and pretty sure both versions had it included.  Fritz 12 has a much nicer interface, but not much different functionality (of the functionality I use).

I can't find on the engine how I do that. :/

Hmm, you're right, I don't see it in Fritz.  I did find it in Chessbase (in a game, Game->Replay).  Can anybody confirm if this is in the free version of Chessbase Light?

Jaguarphd

Well even if that is true that is one game. I was speaking of me loading a whole list of games, pressing play just once, and it goes through all of them quickly.

I didn't think clicking on the next game in the list (or hitting a key) was a deal breaker. ;)

I think a key would be better as I can have it be voice activated.
