While this may be a slight distraction for those who previously had it on the top, this forum is not going to change anything. I would say the pros to the change highly outweigh the cons.

Side.

what are the pros you speak of?

i'd prefer it back to the top.

While I used to use top, I understand the advantages to side.  For one, it's always there as you scroll up/down the page; they could do a floating menu bar at the top, but that takes more code and more maintenance work than a simple fixed sidebar.

Also, that's the way web design is generally going, so going forward that's what's going to be more intuitive to new members.

I’ve always had it on the side since V3 came out, so I was confused for a bit on what y’all were topping about.

Side. Quicker access.

Of course, if you’re talking about Twenty One Pilots....

top for me. easier to use, having it on the side is causing me problems and making things less efficient as the menu has also slightly changed (for the worst).

Maybe. With the top bar, you only have to move your mouse on one axis. With the side, you have to move it on two. Not user friendly. Also, If you have a custom background, like an image, because the side menu is transparent, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish your options. Never like that with the top.

I'm not sure what you mean by only having to move your mouse on one axis?  You had to move side to side to get to the right menu, and then vertically to select the right menu option.  Now you move vertically to get to the right menu, and diagonally to select the right option.

The custom background thing can be a problem.  I'd use the "report a bug" option under the Help menu to submit a screenshot.  The menu probably shouldn't be transparent.

Imagine this:

Side Menu: Hover over Play, move mouse right without mouse going over Learn or Home, move mouse down over Tournaments, click.

Top Menu: Hover over Play, move mouse down over Tournaments, click.

With the side menu, I hover over Play and then move diagonally.

With the top menu, some of the dropdown menus had two columns, so I still had to move diagonally.
