I quite agree, however the lack of any action or feedback from the site moderators suggest it's unlikely to happen and some people will just carry on spoiling it for the rest.

MSC157

We're up there again, yay.

Seriously speaking, I wonder what "the rest" means. Like, 10 members out of 5000?

I agree that it isn't cool to give a spoiler answer anywhere in sight of the puzzle itself. But guess what? Often the answer is given away in the title of the puzzle! "Mate in 2" sound familiar? Many have complained about that particular part of the Daily Puzzle, but it stayed the same. Do you know why? Because, according to a reply by staff, to paraphrase them: "We do this to encourage participation by all. Some members complain that the puzzles are too hard, and a title such as "Mate in 2" encourages them to try it." - After hearing this response, which I appreciated a lot for them taking the time to explain their thinking, I stopped being bothered by such titles. If it helps encourage participation, that's great for all!

The "First Post/First Page" game encourages participation as well. Think about that. So long as the first posters don't put spoilers in their messages, it hurts no one.

Just because people aren't complaining about it doesn't mean they aren't annoyed by it.

Those comments discourage me from participating because I have to scroll through pages of useless comments to find anything interesting.

It's pointless, goofy, annoying and encourages people, if anything, to avoid the puzzle. As usual, 10 members voice what 5000 are thinking.

MSC157

Lol, decide already.

We have "fp", "great puzzle today", "hello" on the first page.
Response: C'mon, let's have a discussion about the puzzle.

Then I (or others) post the analysis or possible continuation.
Response: Narcissist, posting clues and hint, gtfo!

Yeah, that's why mods will never take you seriously.
