Time calcuation for Tactics Trainer

Does anyone know how the Tactics Trainer calculates the time spent training?  Is this the time used solving the puzzles or just the total time the Tactics Trainer window is opened?

It is probally adding up the total time spent doing the tactics thenrounded to the nearest tenth hour.

both ways it would be almost the same.

how is that information useful?

The only difference would come if you left the Tactics Trainer window open while not completing a problem for some time.  If the calcuated number of hours spent training includes this idle time, then it inflates the actual training time.
