Since you've only been a member for 3 days, how do you know if what you are experiencing is slow?
The main pairing problem you may be experiencing is that your ratings may have fallen outside the minimum ranges that people have set. Unfortunately, you have to wait until someone in your range becomes available.
If you have connection problems, you may have better luck completing games with slower time controls. Then you won't get "fair play notices" for losing your connection and not being able to reestablish before the game is over.
You can block players who are abusive to you so that you don't have to play them again. You can also disable chat. You can report players who are truly abusive by sending an email to Support. That type of behavior seems to be a plague mostly of lower rated players. If you bring your rating up, it will mostly disappear.
