Currently, it is not even possible to make surveys/polls within the main forums. This discussion pollssurveys-for-forums focuses some ideas from other forum discussions.
A workaround is to use a 3rd party application such as SurveyBob.

I have two suggestions for this great site, and I think it might help the entire site when it comes to groups and their forums.
1) Have the ability to make sub-forums inside a main group forum. For example, If I want to make a "General Discussion" forum for my group, have the ability to make different forums within that forum. It would be a great addition to group forums.
2) Have the ability to build polls/surveys within group forums. Let's say like for the World Blitz Championship that's going on. We would pick 4 or 5 players to put on the list, and have running results available, and also the ability to leave comments on the polls too.
A lot of sites I go too have these features(like civfanatics.com and I think it would be great if chess.com did those same things. Thanks
